SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES ESSAY

The comparison of the Young Man and the Husband in the Lady or the Tiger and Death by Scrabble.

What are the similarities and differences between the young man and the husband? The Lady or the Tiger was written by Frank Stockton whereas Death by Scrabble was written by Charlie Fish. There are many differences and similarities between the young man and the husband in both of the short stories.

There are few similarities between the young man and the husband. One of the similarities is both characters have to make choices about their life. The husband have to made choices in choosing alphabet and words to be played while the young man have to choose his fate behind the two doors. Next, the young man and the husband were in a struggle. The husband struggled to end the game quickly while the young man   was struggling in choosing between the two doors. Other than that, both of them were risky to face death in the stories.

Meanwhile, there are few differences between the young man and the husband. First and foremost, the young man was a person with full of love as he loves the princess dearly but the husband was a full of hatred man because he really hates his wife. Secondly, the young man lives in the ancient times as there were king, princess and arena in the story whereas the husband lives in the modern world. Next, the young man was a brave guy as he did not show any fear even he might face his death in front of people and his lover. On the other hand, the husband was a coward as he was not being sincere to himself especially his wife that he hates her so much.

In conclusion, both characters have many differences but they have similarities at the same time. Every character in any story have their own personalities and behaviours. I hope writer nowadays are creative enough to create more interesting and unique characters.
