RESEARCH ESSAY
RESEARCH ON POPULARITY RANKING BASED ON
APPEARANCES OF GIRLS
How many girls in this lecture room are hot? Hot in what
way? These were the questions asked in a particular survey conducted in Group 8
of English tutorial. I myself was very satisfied with the results gained
although there were some negative feedbacks by the participants. On 11th
March 2013, in University Teknologi Petronas, a simple survey was done by
myself in Lecture Room 12 during our English tutorial class which is from 5 to
7 pm. Mr Rosli Din, our tutor was present to observe and monitor our research.
In total, there were 20 students in the class excluding me and they were
comprised of a majority of female students and a minority of male students.
They were all students at the age of 18 and they were of the Malay, Chinese and
Catholic raises. There were supposed to be about 4 international students but
they were absent on that particular day. All students in the class were from
various courses of engineering in foundation first semester.
According to the
results of my research, I have discovered that the percentage of students who
admire the girls in Group 8 English tutorial is 50% while the rest are against
the question. Some students did not think that the question was important while
some other students were commenting statements off topic. I was quite shocked
to know that certain students were pretty enthusiastic about this question and
started putting ‘smiley’s at the end of their answers. What was even shocking
was that a particular student tried to tackle the person who prepared the
survey with sweet words without knowing the gender of that person. From this
research, I conclude that a lot of students that find the girls in Group 8 of
English tutorial very attractive nevertheless there are certain students that
disagree and a small number of students did not give appropriate answers.
In a nutshell,
different students have different tastes on what appearances or attitude that
their dream girl or boy should have and there is no such thing as a group of
students showing interest in only a certain person of the opposite gender. My
research is about done here. Thank you to Mr Rosli and my friends for their
support.
