Report On Poster Presentation (Death By Scrabble)

On 1 April 2013 at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, my partner, Fazira Room and me, Ain Syafinaz Samsuri had to make a presentation on a short story. The short story that was given to us was ‘Death By Scrabble’ written by Charlie Fish. Before making the presentation, we needed to understand the story first.The short story is a bit easy to understand it. Just about several words that we did not understand. So, to understand this story more, my partner and I studied the short story and discussed about the part that we did not understand. We had used the Oxford dictionary to find the meaning of the word.

After that, we did some research about the short story and make a poster based on it. We also designed our poster creatively with some of the pictures and scrabble words related to the short story. At the middle of the poster, we had to included the picture of the most interesting scene in the short story. Then, we divided our part to be present for the poster presentation.

In our presentation, my partner and I presented the poster to our tutor, Mr. Rosli Din and friends in the tutorial group. We had explained the summary, theme, settings, characters and moral values of ‘Death By Scrabble’ short story. We also include a story about the woman who cheated to her husband in the presentation as an example of the story that related to the short story. We had to done our presentation about 10 minutes. Along the poster presentation, everything was going well. By doing this presentation, I can improve my communication skills and feel confident to do the presentation.
