Argumentative Essay
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF A MOTHER TOWARDS A NEWBORN CHILD
Can mothers nowadays give full commitment to their occupation and fulfill their growing child’s needs? I highly agree with the statement that women should quit their jobs after their first delivery. Raising a child may seem easy but in reality it requires full commitment from the parents, preferably the mother to make sure that the essential and basic needs of the growing child are fulfilled. A woman  who is about to become a mother should quit her job because the newborn child needs full attention from its parents and she should evade any stressful conditions that are sometimes caused by work apart from being able to participate in all family events.
Although the needs of a newborn baby at the beginning is very little, it becomes greater as time progresses and the baby grows therefore the baby needs full attention from its parents. The baby cannot be taken lightly as if it is a simple machine that requires only little maintenance because it is a very complicated living organism that is very immature in nature so their parents must keep an eye on them to ensure their stable growth. The mother, especially must always be by the baby’s side to watch over it. A newborn baby has basic needs such as shelter, food , clothes and educational entertainment. The reason educational entertainment is included as one of the baby’s basic needs is because babies need early exposure to toys that boost their mental growth as this is the most crucial time for their developing brain. The mother of the child is the most suitable person for all of this because women are known to be more passionate and caring towards their child considering that they have been carrying them for 9 months before they are born. She must provide proper protection and security to the newborn baby. Babies are known to be very curious and nosy as they always try to find objects that they can play with or chew on for their developing gums. The mother should pay close attention to what her child is playing with or chewing as it could be something dangerous like a knife or something sharp and pointy at its ends.
A woman who just gave birth will probably be visited constantly by relatives and friends so there will be many functions and celebrations held therefore she must be present at most of them to show her respect and gratitude towards her friends and family. She must be able to blend in with her family well through functions like this. However, if she continued to work even after giving birth she would be busy with her work and she would not be able to attend these functions so the strength of the bond between her and her family will reduce. There are some exceptions though when a mother who is working is able to attend most of the functions held as long as she is consistent in her job and able to manage her time properly. Situations like this are possible if the mother does not apply for leave and works everyday for an allocated number of hours just to prevent having any stacked work that can accumulate and cause excess stress. Through this the mother will be able to participate in all family events although attending slightly later than usual. For every action there is a reaction equal and opposite, nevertheless the mother would be mentally exhausted because she might be attending the function right after work and she will have have many things going on in her mind so she will not be able to concentrate completely during the functions.
A working mother requires a tremendous amount of patience when balancing between work and family because there is stress coming from both sides and if this system collapses, which means extra stress received from work may cause the working mother to reflect it on her family so a mother who has just given birth should only spend her time on her family. For example, when a working mother comes back home after a very tiring day and sees her children making a mess in the house, she immediately goes into a rage and starts scolding her children when in reality it is natural for kids to behave like that at times. Now, if a mother who is not working had seen that she would have just advised her children to not do that the next time and she would have taught them to behave properly. This shows that working mothers sometimes don’t have the time to teach their kids good manners and proper behavior because most of the time they would be working and their children would have a lot of freedom to do anything they want plus this is the time they would be naughty and start playing truant. If kids are left like this without anyone keeping an eye on them, they would grow up to think that they are powerful and they can do anything they want and it is at this point when they start going against their parents words. Many criminals these days originate from crisis at home like this  and one of the ways to stop it is for their parents to quit their job and pay full attention towards them.
In a nutshell, a woman who has given birth should quit her job so the baby gets 100% attention and she gets to evade unnecessary stress as well as being able to participate in various functions. In the future, I hope women would consider quitting their jobs after their first delivery so their child gets enough love and attention and do not grow up feeling isolated.
