THE SCRABBLE GAME BETWEEN A HUSBAND AND A WIFE

Do you know the scrabble game is dangerous game? “Death by Scrabble” is a short story written by Charlie Fish that shown the scrabble game is dangerous game. In following paragraph, I would like to talk about the effect of the scrabble game towards the relationship between husband and wife and the effects of words used while playing the scrabble game.

First of all, I would like to talk about the effects of the scrabble game towards the relationship between husband and wife. In the short story entitled “Death by Scrabble”, we could see that there is no communication between the husband and wife. They only focus on the game and do not communicate with each other. Besides, there is no trust in relationship also is the effect of the scrabble game. Based on the short story, we could see that the wife does not trust her husband. The wife thought that her husband was cheated her during playing the scrabble.

Secondly, I would like to talk about the effects of the words used while playing the scrabble. There are many words that have been played by the husband and his wife. The words that they played actually have disturbed their mood. The husband feels very angry when his wife plays the word ‘CHEATING’. These word shows that the wife actually knows her husband has cheated on her. Actually, the husband has cheated his wife by stealing a blank tile from the letter bag. Besides that, when the husband plays the word ‘WARMER’, he starts to feel hot as the heat from the blazing sun increases. He becomes very stress because he has to play the scrabble with his wife in hot condition.

In a nutshell, there are many effects of the scrabble game towards the relationship and trust between the husband and the wife in a short story “Death by Scrabble” written by Charlie Fish.
