Preservation And Conservation of The Environment
19th February 2013, Monday, Universiti Teknologi Petronas – Environmental pollution is not a new fact. It is one of the biggest problems the world faces today. It is a big matter which is disturbing us economically, physically and our normal life. Currently, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) students were held a campaign of preservation and conservation of the environment which is also known as Go For Green! Campaign. Almost 100 students were involved in this campaign. There were a lot of programmes had been implemented during this campaign. The most awesome activity that had been done during this campaign was replanted the tree along the street in the UTP area.Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohammad had been invited to launch the campaign.Thus, this campaign had attracted many students to join it included the international students.

Go For Green! Campaign had been held by
UTP students due to the latest condition of the earth which had been reported at
the critical situation. The global economic productions caused the global pollution.
As examples, the burning of the fossil fuels to run factories, motorized
vehicles and so on .The thinning of ozone layer endangered the human as the
ultraviolet ray could penetrate towards the surface of the earth. The
ultraviolet ray could affect the human’s health as it could cause skin cancer,
eye cataract and etceteras. The global issue had been reported that the earth
had been threatened by thermal pollution which caused the melting of ice at
North Pole and South Pole. One of the effective ways to overcome this problem
is by conserve and preserve of the environment wisely and do not contribute
towards the pollution of the earth.
