The Causes and Effects of Playing Scrabble to the Husband
Would you play Scrabble on Sunday with your wife? In the short story "Death By Scrabble", the
husband agreed to play Scrabble with his wife even though he actually stated that he hated to play
Scrabble on Sunday with his wife. There are three causes and three effects of the husband's failure to
avoid playing the game.
These are the causes of the husband's failure to avoid playing the game. Firstly, he is a coward. He
did not tell his wife that he did not want to play the game. Next, his wife is a queen control. This is why the
husband still agrees to play the game even though he hates it so much. Lastly, they did not communicate
with each other. Without communication, they did not know each other's feeling.
Besides that, these are the effects of the husband's failure to avoid playing the game. Firstly, the
game was jinxed. The tiles that the husband and wife played became true. Next, the husband hated his
wife more than ever. Everything that his wife did made him hated her more such as had good tiles, had
bad tiles, made a cup of tea for him and many more. Last effect is the husband was choked to death.
Because of the quake, the tile in his mouth made him choke to death.
Therefore, there are three causes and three effects of the husband's failure to avoid to play the
game with his wife. Thus, the husband should have been more honest with his wife if he does not want
something bad happen.
